I was just wondering if there was a way I could turn midi into some kind of actual music file. Is there a program out there?

hmm, I'm not aware if there's anything new, but when I was at college a couple of years ago, we just routed the output from the soundcard into an audio editing software like Cool edit pro or soundforge and resaved it as an audio file. The only other way I can think of doing it is by using a sequencing piece of software like Sonar and mixing the midi files down into an audio file...

As far as I know, there's no magical piece of software that'll just convert them...

there is a less indirect way and that is using soundfonts. Get a soundfont and programs like audio compositor or sfz soundfont player. Sonar has a way, though this is using synths to midi tracks and it gets quite dawnting and expensive (sonar is prized at a bit above 200 dollars). As far as I am aware the easiest way to converting a midi to wave or audio is to record it off your keyboard or through the sound output of your midi synth.
